Could I be pregnant?
If there is any possibility of pregnancy, tell the team before surgery. The need for pregnancy testing depends on your circumstances, the procedure and local policy, and testing should be done with consent.
The purpose is to make sure the benefits, timing and risks of the procedure and anaesthesia can be considered appropriately. A possible pregnancy should be discussed sensitively and confidentially.
